"Where Or When"
For AOL Users
Date: Mon, 31 Dec 2001 18:57:15 EST
From one of our users, Gregg Dispenza, we received the following tip
Here is a big tip for any AOL
users who bought this excellent database.
Chances are, especially if you are using Internet Explorer for
the browser, you will have to go into the Internet Options area.
Under the Advanced Tab click on the button to "restore
defaults".
If the "Where Or When" setup still does not work, go
into the Internet Options area again. Under the Programs tab,
check the box that says IE should check to see if it is the
default browser (Netscape users may have to do this only, in the
Preferences section).
Based on the "behind the scenes" stuff that AOL's
program generally tries to do to disable non-AOL browser users,
the above steps should make it so that the database will setup
and run properly.
Any further problems, you'll need to go to the "Where or
When" website, register your copy, and email the problem to
tech support.
Mine is working fine now. And be sure to print out the pages
titled "Print Out Directions". You may also want to
print the pages that explain the cataloging symbols used.
Above all, patience will be needed, both in following the setup
directions carefully and getting through the database at all. It
is very interactive, so it takes a few times to get the hang of
the searches and such, and there is a LOT of info to go through.
